It may take a while but what’s meant for you will always find its way to you

Do you believe what is meant for you will always find you?

We attract good things because we believe and expect good things to come to us. Similarly, when we believe and expect bad things, we also attract that into our lives. This is similar to the Law of Attraction we hear about.

If you believe in fate, this could have a negative influence on your beliefs. If you are a positive person, this likely means life will be kind to you. Fate and faith are interesting concepts. Both have roots in our upbringing. Fate focuses on the inevitability of destiny and its effects on our lives. Destiny does not necessarily include belief in God whereas faith is a complete trust or confidence in someone such as God or a higher power.

Living in this world today it is hard not to believe in fate. It is faith however that will get us through. Tragedy and loss can affect our faith in both God and humankind. However, faith in the goodness of life, in the sincerity of people, and in the existence of a higher power can actually give us hope and guide us through our daily lives. Positive beliefs, comfort, and guidance gained from religion, meditation, and prayer can contribute to our wellbeing. It may even promote healing.

Finding Faith

How do we find our faith? Whether you are a religious or spiritual person, believe in God or a higher power, faith comes from within and can actually bring us strength and trust in ourselves. Exploring your spiritual core, looking for deeper meanings in life, and thinking positively can all help us to find our faith. Even practicing meditation and yoga or traveling may be beneficial.

What is the difference between faith, religion, and spirituality?

Faith can be defined as believing in someone or something outside yourself. Religion as a specific set of organized beliefs and practices, usually shared by a community or group. Spirituality is typically an individual practice and may have to do with finding a sense of inner peace and purpose.

Faith and Health

Researchers have been working to understand and distinguish the beneficial connections between faith, religion, spirituality, and health.

One study at Oregon State University found that “religion and spirituality have distinct but complementary influences on health. A new theoretical model defines the two distinct pathways. Religion helps regulate behavior and health habits, while spirituality regulates your emotions, how you feel.” (1)

Lack of faith can lead to hopelessness and despair, even disease. Studies have shown that spiritual wellness allows us to be in tune with our spiritual selves. This then helps our physical health by relieving stress and worry. Religion may be one route you may take to boost your spiritual wellness. However, delving into your spirituality and finding practices that work for you may significantly improve your health and wellbeing. (2)

Today taking an active part in guiding your spiritual health can give you faith in your own ability to lead your life with intention.
